I found the exact type of vehicle that I was looking for in the right price range. I have heard nothing but great comments about Mazda Tributes.
After buying my first Mazda Tribute in 2005, I was sold! The ability to pull a trailer and not feel the PULL on the car is fabulous- This mazda has the responsive handling and it is MUCH quieter than the 2003 model. My Tribute is black on black and I think it looks very classy. The gas mileage is actually better than the estimated 20 and 28. I drove from Florida to ALabama to Pennsylvania the first week I bought the Tribute and averaged 30-32 on the road. The first week I was here in Pennsylvania, it snowed 4-6 inches and there were hazardous road conditions leaving me skeptical about the handling of a new vehicle- However, the Tribute stepped up to the plate and knocked it out of the park-You can take it out of overdrive and there is an auto stabilizer for icey/wet/ conditions requiring more traction and control. The brake will safely slow you if the car "senses" a loss of traction and the front wheel drive will put you back in control. The seats seem to have more support in them than my former 2002 model, and legroom is more ample in the front and back seat. I did have the opportunity to catch a few zzz's in the cargo compartment during my 24 hour drive and there is enough room to be very comfortable for short periods of time. Moving my personal items to my new assignment was not near the hassle because the cargo area (when the seats are lowered) is a lot bigger heightwise than the older models.Mazda really got this model right. The instrument panel presented many options for me including satellite radio and bluetooth, which I have in my other car and thoroughly enjoy. When I went to pair my phone, although the button was there, it is not available on the I model, a bit of a let down. When I went to subscribe to the satellite radio I found no satellite radio installed and found only the dealer has the "connector" for this to work and it is not inexpensive. Other than these two options not being available for me I was highly pleased with my new Mazda Tribute. I love this Tribute more than my first and I was head over heels for it!
