good car for the year and value

seems reliable transportation for a while, rides smooth

Pros

  • Fuel Economy: gets 20-25 mpg
  • Cabin Noise: quiet

Cons

  • Dashboard: cramped and 3 different colored lights on dash
  • Interior Space: cup holders are tight and constantly get opened when reaching for.

Needed Work Immediately

Car was started making a noise when accelerating, and turns out it needed a new transmission. I have had two CX5s and have never had an issue

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Ride is very nice.

Cons

  • Cost to Maintain: Within a month, was told my car needed a new transmission. Has only 22000 miles at the time.

Mixed bag

Good dependability according to Consumer Reports

Pros

  • Ride and Handling
  • Power: Quite adequate for a 4 cyinder.
  • Reliability: Much better than most according to Consumer Reports.

Cons

  • Cabin Noise: Lots of road noise from the front wheels, but very quiet from rear wheels. Go figure.
  • Seat Comfort: Comfort is ok, but you sit low relative to the cash. Adjustable seat does not go high enough.
  • Interior Space: Surprisingly tight inside.
