The 09 ML350 almatic is a great car. With many years working on vehicles I have seen my share of all types of vehicles. The fit and finish of the car is better than most and probably second to Lexus only in the $50-90k price range. Expect to spend more at the repair shop, but then again drive a boring Honda if you need the economy.
Very well priced, new tires, tight. Drove, smelled and felt like a new one.
I originally purchased a 2010 ML350 from my Charlotte, NC store, but quickly realized that I wanted more features than the base model I had acquired. I found this ML in Midlothian Va. The car has the airmatic ride suspension, the Logix 7 surround system, the HID headlights and the LED tail lights, 4matic drive (4 wheel) along with many other features. I had a 4.5 hour ride back to Charlotte in which to fully experience the car. The ride in the comfort mode was great. Dips in the road were subtle and cushy. Switching to the frim ride was like my X5 BMW, responsive. The acceleration is quick, but not lighting fast, but this is a very heavy car. The overall fit and finish is very very good. the leather is exceptional, the controls are failrly well laid out, but then again I drove the 2010 ML350 for 6 weeks before trading it in for this vehicle. So I was accustomed to the controls which took a bit to learn over my BMW. I am espically fond of the multiple in dash displays. It can display nav, info, along with the vechile status, cruise info, outside temp and other car or engine functions. Also the radio and telephone controls, calls etc. can be selected, callers or station selected and changed from the steering wheel using the indash display. This is a big plus. I really love the HID lights and the LED tail lights. The lights are exceptional and very bright, the hi beams are also very very good, better than my X5, which I thought were great. In addition this car has the rear air conditioning and the rear entertainment system, heated front seats, pneumaticaly adjustable lumbar support for both the driver and passanger. Although I kept my X5 BMW, I like the technology in this car. I also test drove the Audio Q7, the Acura MDX, the Infinity JX, the Cadalliac SRX (my 1st choice), The Honda Pilot and the Range Rover HSE. This car (ML350) is nimble, not as large as the range, but better performance than the other models. This car is also a looker. The subtle chrome trim makes the vehicle pop, but does not shout at you as it did on the Acura. The keyless go is also a big big plus. I like keeping the key in my pocket. Some standard features that all of my past mercedes have had are the remote close and opening of the windows and sun roof from the key fob, the fold in mirrors and the height ride adjust. This is great when taking my son to soccer games at fields where there are no paved parking lots. I would recommed this car if you are looking for a Luxury SUV. If you are not accustomed to MB you may be susprised. The fit, finish and performance are very very good. D. Cooper II
