I purchased this vehicle exactly 2 years ago. Since then I am very dissatisfied with the quality and the performance of the car. The light bulbs have to be changed very frequently. Even if you opt for Xenon lights its still very costly. However, my biggest issue is that recently the motor and the transmission failed. Luckily, I did purchase the extended warrantly. My car was in the repair shop for 2 MONTHS for these repairs. I then paid my deductible and thought all is well. Nope, 3 days later the suspension failed while driving!! I was then told that I have to pay a portion of my tow, another deductible and a lining of one part will not be covered so my damages for this repair were $700!!! As a consumer I can't help but feel that my car was never properly repaired but according to the service consultant, this was an "unfortunate coincidence". It is unfortunate to constantly have to pay for unexpected car repairs. As a consumer all I wanted was a safe and reliable luxury vehicle. What I have is a lemon with multiple issues. I am in the process of preparing to return the car. I would advise anyone looking for a safe, reliable, luxury vehicle to look elsewhere and not at a Mercedes Benz.
I have driven Mercedes since 1981. I have the ML 320, I had a 300E, I've had the S320, and also 380SEL. I decided to buy the R350 because the minute I saw it I loved it. It is big but beautiful. I wanted something bigger than a car so this was perfect for me. I have all grown children but still wanted all the space the R class has. I would recommend this vehicle to any man or woman. You will not be disappointed. It handles very well on the highway.
I have had my 2006 R350 for about 6wks now and I love it! For the past 12+ yrs I have driven a Chrysler Minivan. It was the perfect vehicle when my kids were younger. Now I was ready to move on up! This car still allows for a lot of space and is a great transition. Best part is the 6 pass. seating. And it truly sits 6 people. I am 5'11" and my husband is 6'4". My 13yr old son is already 5'10". This was one of the only vehicles that my son could sit behind my husband driving and still have leg room. None of the other luxury SUVs would work unless we got a HUGE one. Their 3rd row was also a joke. I didn't want a V8. I might as well get a Minivan again. We love the panoramic sunroof and I had to get use to the power! The gas is about $5 more per week because I use premium but, hello, we bought a Mercedes. I will drive this car into the ground and look good doing it!
