Purchased vehicle new. Superb handling in all weather conditions with or without traction control.Roomy, powerful, quiet, cold air, comfortable large seats, excellent radio system,rear-wheel drive with a center differential and full perimeter frame makes this the safest vehicle on the road.No make or model front wheel drive vehicle even comes close to the ride, comfort, handling, strength, stability or security of this vehicle.toyota, honda, lexus, saab, porsche, bmw, audi, volkswagon, and all other foreign vehicles are years behind the times in quality and reliability of this Mercury.volvo has no safety record that can even compete with this Mercury. U.S. vehicles are far superior in every manner.
I traded my 2002 Grand Marquis for a 2007 Grand Marquis. I found that the suspension, brakes, wheels and engine have been changed or upgraded significantly. I have owned three of thess cars and they are a great value for a luxury car. I have transformed this car into a high performance vehicle. So far, I am very pleased with this car.
I am very disappointed in the noise that I hear. Not only is there a lot of road noise but when I am idleing I can hear the motor as well. The ride is also rather bumpy even on smooth roads. My Mother, who is a very slight lady, has to be positioned just right or the "passanger airbag warning light comes on. Also I am disappointed that there is no way to hang a trash bag or a way to put some kind of storage unit(for cds and such) I realize that Mercury is not making this car anymore and probable did not take the care in making them that they have in the past. I am disappointed that they didn't care a little more.
