This is my 4th Grand Marquis. I've been driving them since my early 20s. They are not flashy, but are extremely durable and safe. Its too bad Ford didn't put more research into developing a comparable replacement. All 4 have been extremely reliable and very inexpensive to keep in operation. Yes, the gas mileage should be better, but even still, if you look at the total cost of owning the car, the mileage is more than offset by the low frequency and cost of repairs.

I really enjoy my 2004 mercury grand Marquis. I t is a very comfortable riding car. it gets good gas mileage for a V-8 heavy car. These are great cars, as I have had them before.
I have had comments about what a great looking car it is. I use this car every day for work as a field engineer, and put a lot of miles on them. They hold up tremendously, as long as you do the regular maintenance.
I was sorry to hear that they will no longer be making the mercury line of cars after this year, as I consider it a great buy for your money.
Sad to see her go!!!

I've owned my Grande Marquis for 10 years. The only reason I'm considering trading her in is because I've found a 2006 model with 9,000 miles. If you maintain this vehicle it will stay out of the shop. I replaced the battery at year 5, the tires at year 4, and three spark plug coils. With regular oil changes we avoid the mechanic pretty well. Not a fan of high riding SUVs, but I love a big low ride!! This car is an ideal vehicle. I will be trading mine in at 87,000 but I'm positive she has another 87,000 in her.
There’s something about a car that goes vroom that can’t be beat. When you’re sitting behind the wheel of a powerful car, your heart races and your mind wanders to all the places you can go. There are plenty of used cars out there that deliver high horsepower for low prices.
