I love my Mariner. It has everything I want and nothing I don't need. My only complaints are: the back windows don't go all the way down, the glove compartment is very small, the vanity mirrors are not lighted, and the silver finish (around cup-holders and knobs, etc) can scratch. It comes with a 6 CD player and MP3 plug-in and a front and rear charger (for gps, cellphone). I like that the seat fabric is black and low-key...most fabrics are tacky and loud. This Red is gorgeous....I LOVE it! When I first test drove it ....it felt a little rough but I had been driving a Ford Explorer for several years (worth twice as much due to all the bells and whistles), but this is a smaller SUV, so you really can't compare the two. After a few days, I didn't notice a difference. Ford Escapes, Mazda Tributes and Mercury Mariners are all basically the same vehicle with a different name and minor finish differences. Big bang for your buck - hope my 2008 Mariner lasts for ever!
Owned my fwd 6cyl 2007 Mariner for 5 years now and couldn't be happier. Very low maintenance suv and she has started right up for me every day. Just replaced the original battery ($90) after 83k miles and the only other issue was the belt also needed to be replaced ($50)and the 2 rear turn signal bulbs!! The original continental tires were also changed at 50k because the highway noise was getting louder on them which annoyed me and the generals I picked for a replacement are a perfect combo for it. It really has all I need like good pick-up, decent gas mileage, good cargo space,etc.. My next vehicle will have a back up camera though which this does not have.I'm thinking of getting a newer one like '09 or '10 since they stopped making them. Best vehicle for the money that I've owned so far after 30 years of driving.
So far we have a great running vehicle. Had a little trouble with a seal but they fixed it right up and even loaned us a car until the problem was fixed. All in all it was a very nice experience dealing with CarMax here in Kennesaw.
