An earlier review commented on driver headroom. I wanted to offer a different perspective. I'm 6' and have headroom to spare, and I do have the sun roof. I would recommend a test drive to decide for yourself.
The ride of the Milan is great and interior quality is impressive. The leather seats are inviting and supportive over long distances. I took a 5 hour trip last week and had no issues with back or leg fatigue.
Handling is great and adapts between highway and lower speed driving. Steering is sharp and responsive, handling turns at speed with ease.
Performance is good, though I would expect a little better MPG from this engine transmission combo. I averaged 24 mpg over the past month. On my 5 hour trip, I was on the interstate and got around 28 mpg.
The 6 speed transmission is responsive, which is a good thing because it won't hesitate to grab a lower gear when needed. At first I was a little light on the accelerator as it is not as responsive as I am accustomed to. I figured out with the traction control system (TCS), I could be more generous with the throttle as the TCS will help ensure grip even under hard start line acceleration.
One of my favorite additions to this car is the Sync system. The system integrates phone and ipod/mp3 players, all of which you can control using voice commands. There is an integrated USB to plug your device into or you can use a line in jack and 12 volt adaptor. Bluetooth is also integrated for handsfree cell phone use and can even stream music, using a compatible device. To make a long story short, its really cool!
Overall the Milan is an incredible value for the dollar. I challenge you to find a car with this much quality, performance, and all the bells and whistles for under $20k.

Everything is tight and the finish is fantastic. Ride is great; engine is great. If you are 5'10" or shorter, this car is for you.
If you are any taller than 5'10" you CANNOT get a sunroof. You simply will not fit. I am 6' and there is no configuration short of "laying back" in the chair that will prevent me from having to duck while driving. It's not a matter of hitting your head on the roof when there's a bump; it's a matter of simply not being able to hold you head up at all on smooth roads. Highly annoying.
If you get the navigation system, the SYNC will not perform the USB commands (which are those cool voice activated features for playing your ipod and phone) that are advertised on TV.
I absolutely love my Mercury Milan Premier! It is loaded with everything I could ever want in a car. It feels like a luxury car. the ride is smooth and the pickup is great. The dark green color with the tan leather seats is beautiful. I'm still learning the Sync system, but it seems as if there are many useful features. The sound system sounds incredible. I can't get enough of this car! :)
