Customer Review Summary for Mercury
2008 Mercury Mountaineer Premier
2008 Mercury MountaineerCandy & Jorge - San Antonio, TX12/25/2012
A great mid-size, three row family hauler. Quiet interior, smooth ride, strong v8 engine. Great value and comfort for a large family without the huge size of a full size counter part. The only two complaints about this suv is the placement of the parking brake release and no telescopic steering wheel adjustment. This is my 2nd vehicle with Carmax - once again a happy customer.

We bought this car used and love it. It is so cushy with all leather interior and the one thing we comment on frequently is how smooth the ride is. It also has some serious guts under the hood and I love being able to drive easily up a steep hill without flooring the gas pedal. It's a very sturdy car and I feel like my kids are safe in the back. It's also incredibly roomy and has a huge trunk. The only drawback would be the gas milage but it's give and take. With such a large vehicle with a lot of power under the hood, you have to expect that. The look of the car isn't my favorite, I sometimes feel like I'm in a grandma car and it is pretty long so it's difficult to make U-turns or squeeze into small parking spaces. It handles reasonably well in the snow but since it is a larger car, it sometimes slips. But all in all, it's a wonderful car and we love it. It's been very reliable and we're looking forward to getting much use out of it.
