I've owned my Grande Marquis for 10 years. The only reason I'm considering trading her in is because I've found a 2006 model with 9,000 miles. If you maintain this vehicle it will stay out of the shop. I replaced the battery at year 5, the tires at year 4, and three spark plug coils. With regular oil changes we avoid the mechanic pretty well. Not a fan of high riding SUVs, but I love a big low ride!! This car is an ideal vehicle. I will be trading mine in at 87,000 but I'm positive she has another 87,000 in her.
reliable comfortable smarter then me.

very comfortable and handles beautifully.. I have a 1996 Grand Marquis that is still going strong. This car is even smarter then me (which doesn't take much) Told me when the windshield washer fluid was running low. Now it's letting me know that it's time to get the oil changed.
I love this car.. Hope to have it for 20 years.
I have driven a 2001 Ford Escape and never had a problem with it after 105,000 miles. So I decided to go with the Mecury upscale version. I'm very glad I did. I have the top of the line Premier model. This is a more comfortable ride then the Escape. You don't feel the road as much and I'm sure with a new set of Michelin's instead of the standard Continetals, it would be even better. The interior is roomy and laid out nicely. Lots of cargo room and does not have a trucky feel in it's handling like the larger SUVs. I hope to have this one over a 100,000 miles also. Love the styling too. The 2005 has gotten above average dependability from a consumers magazine.
