I get about 21 MPG on mix of city and some rural driving, not too bad. The 4L engine is adequate, but noticeable difference to my previous big engine Mountaineer. Overall I am happy with it.

This car is even smarter then me (which doesn't take much) Told me when the windshield washer fluid was running low. Now it's letting me know that it's time to get the oil changed. I love this car.. Hope to have it for 20 years.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Red Interior Color: Black Average Vehicle Review: (4.5 reviews) I owned a 2002 Grand Marquis for ten years, and it was the most dependable vehicle I've ever owned. I personally drove the 02 for 135k miles. It was getting a little tired so I purchased the 09 in Jan. 2016. This, too is a great looking, great driving vehicle. Unfortunately this vehicle is no longer in production or I would definetly get another one.

The 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis had less than 61K miles. Based on the reliability of the previous car, I felt the 2003 Mercury would last me for many years to come.

Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.625 reviews) I owned this specific car (6PJJ 743) and drove it on three round-trips to eastern Tennessee. It eats up the miles effortlessly and will cruise all day at 70 MPH with no strain and returns very good fuel economy considering its' size and the huge amount of belongings I carried. The after-market dual exhaust system that I added helps the fuel economy. It actually feels like a smaller car in city driving and maneuvers into parking spaces easily. Dollar for dollar, it is a very good value. The reason I sold this car is that I own another Grand Marquis and did not need this one

Transmission: Automatic Color:Gold Interior Color: Tan Average Vehicle Review: (4.231 reviews) I've owned my Grande Marquis for 10 years. The only reason I'm considering trading her in is because I've found a 2006 model with 9,000 miles. If you maintain this vehicle it will stay out of the shop. I replaced the battery at year 5, the tires at year 4, and three spark plug coils. With regular oil changes we avoid the mechanic pretty well. Not a fan of high riding SUVs, but I love a big low ride!! This car is an ideal vehicle. I will be trading mine in at 87,000 but I'm positive she has another 87,000 in her.

Transmission: Automatic Color:Silver Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (4.625 reviews) I am very pleased with my car and all the features of my car. I was driving a Impala, I loved that car but for someone that is 6'7" an 285lbs and in law enforcment, it was a very tight and cramped ride when in uniform and all the gear. I do not have this problem with my Grand Marquis, it is very roomy for anyone that is in the car. I am also amazed that on a recent trip on East 64 through the hills of West Virginia, I averaged 28.5 mph both ways of the trip. I am completly satisfied with my purchase of this car. I would definitely buy another one in a few years if they were still being made, bad decision Ford Mercury, very bad Happy Customer

2001 Mercury Mtneer

This is a very satisfying SUV except for the typical-of-the-class issue of less-than-great gas mileage (15-19, city-Hwy). I previously had a 1999 Eddie Bauer Explorer that also had V8 with fulltime AWD. I love the power and FTAWD but the suspension on this Mountaneer is so much more comfortable than that of the explorer. Yeah, it still feels like a truck but it's comfortable enough that I'm considering selling my car and driving it all the time. BTW, I purposely bought a model with cloth interior because I'm not crazy about leather and frankly, at least in cloth the seats on this model are more comfortable than those in the newer body style 2002-06.
