I wasn't really looking for a MINI at first because I didnt think I would be able to fit comfortably in one (6ft tall). I was browsing through the lot and decided to just sit in one. That turned into a test drive, then I found myself having the one I wanted transfered in! This has been one of the most fun cars I have owned! I picked the car up 10/30/09 and hit the road. This car is pretty darn quick for its engine size, of course the supercharger and 2700lb curb weight helps. It will keep up with the best of them and then some. The music from the exhaust and supercharger are intoxicating! You do however have to keep the revs up to get the most punch. Ride quality is not as harsh as I initially thought. It can be a bit choppy at times though, this could have something to do with the runflats that came with the car. I really love the handling which in turn makes up for the ride quality, which again isn't that bad. This car can take corners at a very quick pace, I will probably never exploit its full capabilities, esp. not on public roads. The interior is top notch. I have two toned leather, panoramic sunroof, H/K sound system, 6-disk changer, and so many other luxury touches. I can easily take a nice long road trip comfortably. I am really happy with this purchase!
I've wanted a Mini Cooper for nearly 9 years, or from the first time I saw one in June of 2002. I've been obsessed with the car and from time-to-time was able to avail myself of a test drive, but alas it somehow always managed to stay just out of my grasp. My dream was realized with the purchase of the 2006 S in chili red, and I have absolutely NO complaints. The style is timeless; maneuverability first-rate with unbelievable performance. The only negative would be the car's appetite for 93 octane, but I'm perfectly okay with satisfying its thirsty little penchant for octane-rich gas, when in exchange it gives me power, pep, and performance each and every time I ask for it! It's a FUN drive, and my only regret is that I was not able to get one sooner!
i would definitely recommend this car to anyone looking for something different. As you can probably guess, minis are small but they are a smooth, fun ride and you can park just about anywhere! So far I have had no problems with the convertible except that sometimes the hatch on the roof doesn't deal properly and makes a small whistling sound over 50 MPH and id also like to point out that there is a slight blind spot towards the back ends of the car while the top is up. Overall, it is a fun, zippy, easy to drive car that will definately add a little something to your life.
