I bought this car about a month ago and so far it's not a bad car. I have noticed that the brakes squeak and the cig lighter in the ront console doesn't work. Haven't had the time to take off to get those looked at, but it is a very nice looking car
The entire process from walking in the door at Carmax and approached my a salesman, showing him the Eclipse they had off the Internet on my iPhone too driving off of the lot was very relaxed and professional. The car itself, I have had it since the 23rd of December, 2011. So far I am very impressed! I have always driven a four door sedan. Infiniti G35x and others of the like. The 2005 G35x was most recent car. I think the Eclipse GS Syder 2007 handles the road better and feels more safe and stable in a curve at moderate speeds. I don't get the feeling that the car weight is shifting causing the car to tip in a curve. I could tell more. However, I'm not. For me being a safe and cautious driver but, when I know there aren't any other cars around so that I'm the only one that could get hurt I have a little fun with it. Just bc I haven't had it long so I want to see how it does. In my opinion it is a great car. For the price, well worth it. It is definitely one of the more inexpensive cars for maintenance and repair. I bought the 150,000 mile warranty. The car only had 40,000 miles as an 2007. I calculated MY average miles a year by the finance term of payoff. Personally I don't want to be actively paying for a vehicle and also have repair totals added.
I started looking for something that would give me get-up and go feeling in the seat of the pants in the $15 - $20k price range. I was also trying to have a back seat as we are a family of four. I tried several makes, including the Mustang GT when my Wife pointed me to the Eclipse GT. On my first test drive I came back all smiles. This car felt great and it would move. I was sold. After a little over a month I still LOVE this car. I have made a week trip putting just over 600 miles on it and had no problem setting for a tank of gas. The car averaged about 20mpg.
