This car is fun to drive, I chipped mine with performance chip and added a cold air ram induction.Sounds pretty good ! The stock radio is junk, replaced with a pioneer double din unit. Turn radius is bad and the torque steer problem continues to be a pain. When you get on the throttle feels like the whole front end gets out of shape. Should have made this car AWD. Needs rear wing to stabilize the ride with some down force. Thinking about going with a super charger and a bigger sway bar to keep the body from twisting so much. Could really use some performance parts in the suspension area as well.
I have now had my 2007 GT for over a year, I feel like I know this car inside and out.
Compares to Mustang GT, Nissan 350z, Subaru WRX, VW GTI, (most of these vehicle can cost quite a bit more too)
Fun to drive
Good Handling on curvy roads
Rockford Fosgate stereo is the best stock stereo I've ever heard.
Most bang for the buck your gonna find.
Nice trunk Space
FWD (because of this, torque steer is a noticeable issue.)
Turning Radius of a pickup truck
Visibility (you get used to this quick tho)
Cheap Leather interior
No room in the back seats, (not that it matters, you wont be sitting back there anyways :P )
If you are the type that modifies I recommend a CAI, it provides a noticeable boost in performance and efficiency. Overall this car gets a thumbs up from me.
Loved it so much I bought another one!
2009 Mitsubishi EclipseKarlee G - Orlando, FL10/02/2016
I bought a 2004 Eclipse in 2009 and traded it in 2013 for a 2009 Eclipse. I absolutely love those little cars. My '09 Eclipse was dream! All I did was regular maintenance on the vehicle and I never had any issues. It was fun to drive and had a lot 'get up and go' power. People were surprised to learn that it was 4 cylinder not a 6. I traded it in for a Mustang, but sometimes I miss it (nothing against my Mustang). They are great little cars. I wish Mitsubishi still made them.
