The replacement of the Diamante lives up to my expectations. The overall styling of the Galant is suberb, just enough flair for the money, not overdone. It has good lines and great appeal to the eyes. It handles easily in the busy traffic and is smooth on long trips of 300 miles plus. Gas mileage is pleasing in this economy allowing a single stop for gas in a round trip of 650 miles. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for an above average sized car, with comfortable seating for a larger individual who is taller than 5'11" and over 200 lbs. No cramping here. Ample trunk storage for golf clubs. The engine performance is adequate with the 2.4L 16 valve engine with optional manual shifting. Its is a great all around vehicle.
I love the Mitsubishi Gallant. I traded in an older model and I loved that one so much that I just got another one. But I am a little upset that my older version of the same model had more features then this one does. Its important that I have two charge ports because I have a busy family the older model offered it but this one does not. Also the trunk is a lot smaller then the other one as well. Don't get me wrong this is a great car but there are some things that can definately be changed.
prior to purchasing this car i was driving an 2009 accord base model. the galant doesnt have as many bells and whistles... i.e. an aux plug in for your mp3 and second charging station... but i am really happy with the overall performance, comfort, and look of the car... and it was a much better deal. also it does have the dual drive mode thing where you can drive automatic or clutchless stick... so that is a one up on the accord.
as for safety, it does have all the bells and whistles including side airbags...which are not as standard as you might think.
