I loved my galant gave me no problems at all!!! It was caught in a flood where the water levels was up to the windows, I was so scared to start it because I thought it wouldn't but low and behold it start right up. I took it and got it detailed inside and out to suck the water out of the seats... It ran great took it on several trips with no problems. There are rally available used. I'm currently looking for another one.
I own a 2006 Navy Blue Galant and it is probably one of my best love affairs, lol! I had previously owned a 1997 Galant and when it was time to trade it in, I decided to be adventuresome and try a different car, namely a Saturn. I couldn't get rid of the Saturn fast enough. I deliberately looked for a blue Galant and once I found it and purchased it, I was a very happy camper. No car is perfect, but for being a four cylinder, it has pretty decent power, easy handling, comfort and nice interior as well as exterior. Whenever I go on a roadtrip with my girlfriends, it's always my car that does the driving, lol! Everyone is comfy and happy, what more could you ask for?
The Galant was the only mid-size car I found in my price range, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I like it. It has a lot of room inside for both front and rear passengers. It has comfortable seating all around. It drives and handles better than more expensive cars I have owned. Really the only things I don't like are related to the motor. Mine has the 2.4L 4-cylinder, and it is just not enough motor for this size car, and because the motor is working so hard to move the car around it doesn't get the kind of gas mileage we would expect from cars with small motors. Turn on the A/C and it feels downright sad. It's a shame really, because I really like everything else about the car, although a stereo aux input would be great.
