WOW

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Cool Kid - Chicago, Illinois 06/21/2008

This car is the best car I have ever driven. Its awesome how all you need is the key in your pocket for the doors to open, or how you can leave it in ur pocket to start the car as well. I love the automatic/manual feature. You just want to relax and take a drive? Leave it in automatic. You want to see what this 2008 beauty can do? switch it to manual. Not telling you to go speed racer or anything, just see what this car has to offer besides the obvious outter beauty. Over all the transition from the 2007 to this new 2008 is amazing. This is a great car for anybody.

Great car!

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer bigd822000 - Illinois 07/29/2009

I love this car! i've had my lancer for almost a year now and I couldn't be more happy! I get on average about 25 miles to the gallon which isn't to bad considering I drive agressive! On a trip to missouri I set the cruise at 65 mph and average 35 mpg... Overall my ES has great power and gets sweet gas mileage! Buy one you can't get any better for under $15,000!!!

The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Car Nut - Cumming, GA 10/11/2008

The Mitsubishi Lancer has undergone quite the makeover for the 2008 model year. In the past, the Lancer lineup has held its own, but never really set itself apart from the competition. Other than the Lancer's popular rally-inspired Evolution lineup, there hasn't been much to say. For 2008, Mitsubishi has obviously stepped it up a notch. Rebuilt from the ground up, the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer bolsters a very aggressive new look, giving it a fighter-jet like appearance. Overall, the vehicle has a sporty and slightly sexy visage. The only issue I found was that the Lancer doesn't seem to wear it's tailights well. This ofcourse can be fixed by adding the factory spoiler option, which is prominently displayed on the GTS models. In my opinion, the spoiler, although often thought to be a little too "wing-like", evens out the overall appearance of the vehicle. The powertrain has been rebuilt as well, featuring an all-new, all-aluminum 2.0 liter DOHC inline 4 cylinder engine that pumps out 152 horsepower. The engine itself is perfect for the vehicle, offering plenty of power for the everyday driver, as well as a large amount of space in the engine compartment for tuners. The only downside is the engine's growl. The engine can be heard very well from within the passenger compartments, even at lower speeds; something the competition has refined a little better. The 2008 Lancer handles beautifully. Hugging cross-country roads better than any vehicle I've ever driven. The steering proves responsive and agile. There is some road noise that penetrates into the cabin, but I'm sure some new high-end tires would clear up that matter. I opted for the continuously variable CVT transmission, which seamlessly moves the engine up and down the powerband, and pumps me out a few extra miles per gallon as well. This transmission does an excellent job with efficiency and brisk acceleration. It's also fun to showoff to family and friends. The vehicle accelerates with absolutely no "shift-shock" and provides an exhilirating driving experience. The interior has been vamped up quite a bit, which is a giant step for Mitsubishi and it's history of bland interiors. The Lancer still lacks the total refinement that some of the competition offers. Plastics are bountiful on the interior, yet they work well together. The seat cushions are good at best, but you might find that other cars in this segment offer more of a "plush" feel. There is plenty of space to work with in the front and back seats. A two-toned color scheme gives the 2008 Lancer a sporty demeanor. The gauges are all placed very well, and click and move exactly as you would like them to. The majority of your information is displayed on an interesting central digital display, including your gas, mileage, temperatures, trip computer, weather warnings, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and much more. Your speedometer and tachometer are set in "tunnel-like" clusters, giving the Lancer a modern attitude. I opted for the technology package, which included the touch-screen 30gb HDD Navigation Unit with Music Server, bluetooth wireless, and the F.A.S.T. key system. The Nav unit is remarkable and easy to use. It stores all of your map information on an onboard 30 gigabyte hard disk drive, allowing for rapid retrieval of your information. The unit also sets aside memory for storing 2,000+ songs directly on the drive. Every CD you put in is automatically recorded onto your hard-drive, allowing for instant playback at a later time! The unit also allows for numerous modifications to the vehicle, including themes, maintenance logs, address books, keyless entry settings, and much more. The bluetooth package lets you to pair most cell-phones to the audio system, allowing for hands-free cellular usage. It includes a steering wheel mounted unit with three buttons: voice-command, answer, and end-call. The system connects seemlessly to my i-Phone, and even shows my signal srength and battery power on the 7 inch LCD touch-screen monitor on the navigation unit. Calls are crystal clear, and if you are playing music, it's faded back in following the conclusion of your conversation. A remarkable option in the Lancer is the F.A.S.T. key system. With the transmittor in your pocket/purse, you will never need to fumble with keys again. The vehicle senses the transmittor and with one touch of the door handle, the car door unlocks. The same goes for the trunk, which is opened with the touch of a little black button, as long as you have the transmittor on you. With the system installed, the vehicle will NEVER lock if the keys are left inside! Perfect for all of us who tend to lock our keys in our car! When all of the cargo is loaded, and as long as the transmittor is on you, all you need to do is turn on the ignition and go! After exactly one full year now, overall, I am very pleased with the vehicle. The 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer may lack some of the refined qualities offered by the competition, but makes up for this with exceptional and unique option packages for all of us technology savvy people. Pile that on with Mitsubishi's 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and a lack of ANY issues to-date, and you have one heck of a package. I can safely and confidently recommend this vehicle to family and friends!
