11 Mitsubishi Outlander

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Genius - Washington D.C. 10/13/2012

This is truly a well-rounded vehicle. It handles extremely well. I can actually go around a corner at 30+ mph better in this than many of the cars that I drive without a sweat. Great steering, power, and 4WD system- best in the world!!!f You can't get stuck in this thing- it's like a Land Rover. Superb space... you can fit 5 6-footers in this without room to stretch. It actually has the same and better space than a lot of large SUV's. Trunk is spacious without 3rd seat down and still decent for some groceries with it up. Appearance- beautiful, mean, sporty yet elegant. It's what an SUV should really look like. I get a lot of complements on it! A few of my friends actually purchased this and the Outlander Sport when they saw and drove it. Quality- I definitely have a premium feel in this car. It's not luxury, but it has a "class above" feel. MUCH BETTER THAN RAV4 AND ACURA RDX. Also, after 20k miles, it still drives and feels like when it was brand new.

First Carmax purchase

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Mitsubishi owner - , 12/24/2013

After six months, I think this car is still fun to drive and a good choice to move into the crossover market. The highway mileage has been very close to estimated MPGs. It's fairly comfy on drives over three hours, although I use a bath towel for some lumbar support. The support for audio and power for MP3 and IPod connections works very well, especially if you don't have the USB port. The upper and lower glove boxes are a convenient feature for hiding and locking valuables out of sight, even a wallet or small purse. Cruise control is very responsive on the highway and the car has great pickup, more than adequate for most drivers. The rear space is adequate for a lot of travel needs, even my full size road bike with the rear seats folded up. It was difficult to find a compatible bike rack for this vehicle. A hitch mount would have been nice. Driving w/windows open is annoying, even at low speeds, unless you have three windows open (two rear windows seem to create lots of noise and your ears feel like they need to pop). Engine light seems very sensitive to the gas cap closure. The look of this car grows on you. This is my second used car and first w/Carmax. As long as they have quality vehicles, I would buy here again, no pressure.

Loser of a vehicle

2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Jane Thompson - Harrisonburg, VA 09/24/2015

Uncomfortable, no power, had a hard time passing any other vehicle. Back ached after driving. Had it for 3 weeks and turned it back in.
