2007 Mitsubishi OutlanderBake City - knoxville, TN04/15/2011
I wanted a small SUV for a certain price range, and the outlander was a great buy. I previously had a Ford Escape and it was a great car for me, but I wanted a change instead of getting a new Escape. The Outlander came with a lot of nice features, and the only negative I have found is that it has a lot of road noise compared to my Escape. Other than that it has been great so far.
You may not believe this but this vehicle is truly a blessing from God. It has everything I wanted in a vehicle and more. I normally have a heavy foot but with this vehicle it has so much power to be a 4 cyclinder that I don't have to have a heavy foot. I love to fish so the waterproof compartments in the back come in very handy for wet items. I have taken her on the road to Virginia (4 hours away) and still had a half a tank of gas. I am enjoying my Outlander immensely and recommend it to others.
Overall I love the car, but here's the things that are annoying about the 06 Outlander.
1) Turning radius. This is my first SUV/Wagon, so I have nothing to compare it with, but I've seen minivans that could make sharper turns.
2) Rattles. The glove compartment rattles so much on bumpy highways that I had to get some window insulation tape and re-seal the glove box.
3) Short Wheel Base = Bumpy Ride. At highway speeds on patched over northern roads... it's impossible to keep your head steady because the car bounces you around so much.
The gas mileage has been accurate to the sticker info. The AWD is responsive. The vehicle is very peppy for a standard 4 cylinder. The interior is very calming and still sporty. The seats and interior roominess is perfect for me at 5'5".
