I was in the market for a smaller SUV and wanted something sporty with great gas mileage. Being a single mother, I also needed something dependable. After reviewing Consumer Reports and seeing the high ratings for the 2003 Mitsibishi Outlander; then driving it, I was sold! I have been very pleased with everything about it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fuel efficient, sporty SUV.
Bought the car a little over a month ago and now have 75000 miles on it. I really like the new design, the fact that it comes standard with 3 rows of seats. The interior isn't flashy but it doesn't seem like cheap plastic either. I like the radio, 8 inch wheels, heated seats, integrated blue tooth, fog lights ect. and all the other options for the price over competing SUV's.
Pros-Great on gas. Keyless is a great feature. Lots of room when back seats are down and plenty of storage in rear with back seats up. I live in SW Florida so AC is Vital and it cools quickly. 4 door lots of room for 5 comfortably. 2.4 4 Cylinder helps with quickness in traffic. Sky roof is awesome opens up the entire ceiling with lighting around edges, cool feature. Smooth ride at any speed, especially on highway at 65-80 mph. Nice front lights...White and I.e Fog package. Extra nice Radio/CD and Sub Woofer package.
Cons- AC makes noise at start up. 2.4 4 Cylinder is not enough pick up. Back seats are boxy with nothing for adjustment. Price is somewhat high for this vehicle and made from lots of plastic interior.
