the 05 Outlander is a solid midsized SUV that just keeps on runnin... I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Drove mine across country and back without a hitch, it was a bit sluggish up in the high altitudes of the Rockies in Colorado, with the 4 cyl. engine, but fine everywhere else. All wheel drive is excellent. Not great milage, but definately acceptable.. Never a problem and all accessories performed flawlessly. The Outlander is a well-kept secret of the automotive world. A quality, dependable, and low maintenence vehicle that will serve you well for your everyday use.
From the power windows and doors to the sunroof and DVD player, this little baby has got it all! I saw it on a Thursday and bought on that Monday. Low miles. Great features. I had to have it. The car rides smooth, and the seats are comfortable. They really keep you seated when you have to give the gas pedal a nudge. I love the sunroof, I even crack it a little although its November just to get some air flow. Car is spacious, according to my passengers. I have yet to take a long trip with the car packed, but I'm sure it will do fine. Gas mileage is great. There are also a ton of places to store items in the cabin. In the console under the arm rest, in the dash, and in both the upper & lower glove boxes. Storage in back is sparse, but I used to have a pickup where I needed to keep cords, tools etc. in the bed. Too many positives about this car to name. Bottom Line: Go test drive one today. I will repeat what another reviewer said that hooked me, "Best kept secret in cars!"
I wanted a small SUV for a certain price range, and the outlander was a great buy. I previously had a Ford Escape and it was a great car for me, but I wanted a change instead of getting a new Escape. The Outlander came with a lot of nice features, and the only negative I have found is that it has a lot of road noise compared to my Escape. Other than that it has been great so far.
