THE GOOD: The Cube is hands down the cutest of the little "toasters" out there - both inside and out - the detail of design, with the sole exception of the shag carpet circle on the dash, is brilliant! The inverted water drop ceiling feature has elicited gasps of awe! We were even told by a service associate at a Toyota dealership, while we were there to drop off our PriusC for service, that he likes the design of the Cube WAY over the Scion! And the interior isn't only aesthetically awesome, it's incredibly comfortable. You get TONS of interior room!!! The front seats are deep and plush. The rear bench can be adjusted forward or back for more or less leg room. The rear seats tilt WAY back for road trips and fold flat for hauling stuff!!! It handles surprisingly nimbly for one so... shall we say "aerodynamically challenged" and the turn radius is amazing! Bottom line, driving the Cube is FUN! Oh yeah, and you get 28-30 MPG!!! THE BAD: I wish the pick up was better. Road noise can be a bit of an issue and the window visors are laughably large - at times too big to be helpful. That's it. THE KROM EDITION: The upgrades to the sound system are AMAZING and completely fix the road noise issue!! Bigger, better and more speakers, including a built-in Rockford bass tube in the rear door! It delivers a full rich sound that THUMPS! If you are an audiophile, you definitely want to go Krom Edition! You also get the sweetest interior seat fabric ever!!! It's sort of a cross between checkerboard and hounds tooth and you get all these cool carbon fiber accents to match throughout the Cube... Not to mention, a built in GPS and backup camera! WE LOVE IT!!!
I recently purchased a Nissan Cube from a dealer in Toms River, New Jersey. My Cube is parked in my garage each night. I have had the Cube five months now. After a few weeks I noticed scratches by the front left wheel, then some scratches on the hood, and in the back, and so on. Then I got stuck in the recent snow storm here in the northeast (October 2011). My car was covered with several inches of snow and I only had a plastic shovel to clear my car off with. Needless to say my car now has scratches from getting the snow off. There are also several more scratches I cannot attribute to the shovel that I assume were from the highway ride home thru the storm. Unfortunately, the warranty states If your Nissan is damaged due to an accident or similar cause which destroys the paint and protective coating, have your vehicle repaired as soon as possible. The cost of such repairs is considered the responsibility of the owner. So the dealer is charging me several hundred dollars to buff out the scratches. So I am making you, the reader, aware that the Nissan Cube comes with a soft paint job that scratches easily. Buyer beware.
Pro: Good comfy seats Excellent head room for tall drivers Back seats adjust back and forth Cons: Not enough child safety features Not enough leg room (width wise) cup holders in the front under the radio doesn't hold tall drink such as large Back seat isnt wide enough for 3 people and the middle one is not big enough for a car seat at all!!!
