It is really a great car for short commutes. My car is a 2012 and could be the reason that it only does about 76 miles per charge. I would recommend this car to someone that does not do much driving. Only to work and back. It does, however, have excellent power. It picks up speed, drives beautifully and feels great.
To much misleading test data about the Leaf, The range is very misleading. hot weater you loose range, you turn on AC you loose range, you turn on Heat you loose range. charging time is a joke, 18-24 hours to charge on the little factory charger, and if the car is equipped with the 3600 watt only charge unit you will have to wait 7 hours, 7200 watt if equipped 4 hours and the 440 volt is 45 minutes if equipped, but the 440 charge station is hard to find in many areas, and vandals steal or damage the 7200 watt stations so you cant depend on a station to be working. no spare tire, and in the event you are in areas with heavy down pours of rain when the road has lots of water 4 inches or more there is a big risk of water getting in the batter
This is a great little second car to tool around town in but you can NEVER take a road trip in it. Getting to LA from Las Vegas is impossible for me to do. Don't trust the mileage range, go off the battery life because there's NO WAY this car gets 100 miles per charge (more like 80). DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU BUY. I didn't and trusted the dealer to tell me everything I needed to know. Now I'm learning the hard way what Level 1/2 charging is and how I can kick myself for not choosing a model with the quick charge port (it'as not an aftermarket product). Also, think about how much you drive before you buy. Thank goodness I kept my gas car.
