Great for Short Commute

It is really a great car for short commutes. My car is a 2012 and could be the reason that it only does about 76 miles per charge. I would recommend this car to someone that does not do much driving. Only to work and back. It does, however, have excellent power. It picks up speed, drives beautifully and feels great.

Fun to drive. Cheap to drive. A perfect commuter car.

Don't let people scare you about range anxiety, this car is fine for anyone whose commute is 35 miles (one way) or less (that would be 90% of the population). The car is blissfully quiet in motion, leaps from 0-35 almost instantly and still has excellent pickup at highway speeds. You drive to work, come home, run your errands and then plug it in for the night and start with 75-90 miles range the next morning. You will see a 15%-20% drop in range in REALLY cold weather (below freezing), but usually this is not a problem unless you are at the limits of your range during your daily commute. If you can plug your car in at work you can, of course, extend your range. Costs about 3 cents a mile to run, versus 10 cents for a gas car.

Possibly your new best friend!

Ok, let's address the elephant in the room: range. On an 80% charge I average between 40-50 miles and 50-60 miles on a 100% charge, in city driving conditions. If this does not meet your round trip commute needs or you don't have the option of charging at your destination then this is probably not the car for you. If you fall within these parameters then read on.... We drive this car about 600-700 miles a month. If compared to the city MPG of our gas compact sedan that's about $70 in savings a month which is half the cars payment and we only put $1500 down! I work with people who commute 36 miles a day, and spend more than my payment just on gas. We live in a condo complex and the outlet I use to charged is billed to my HOA!
