I upgraded ten years from a '96 to an '06. This car is amazing, the power took some getting used to. I had a choice of many other cars, but the quality of my previous car made this an easy pick. These cars LAST FOREVER and rarely need maintenance other than minor updates and oil changes.
2006 Nissan MaximaLucky Charm - Texas11/15/2009
I recently purchased a 2006 Maxima SL and I felt spoiled with all of the creature comforts. The back seat was roomy enough for my 6'3" son to sit behind my 6'2" husband when he was driving! I absolutley loved it!! Unfortunately, during a drive home from work on the freeway during rush hour, the car directly to my right moved into my lane, I swerved to the left to avoid being hit, then had to swerve back to the right to avoid another vehicle. Next thing I know I am spinning across three lanes of rush hour traffic at freeway speeds, my rear tire hit a curb and I flipped off of the freeway and landed directly upside down onto a residential street. I hung up in the seatbelt until help arrived. I was able to open my door, crawl out and walk away without the tiniest scratch or bruise. I owe the Maxima my life, literally! The witnesses, paramedics, police, and insurance adjuster were as shocked as I was that I was able to emerge from the vehicle completely unscathed. Thank you, Nissan!!!!
I'm very happy with this car. The electric tilt/telescoping steering wheel is a great feature for a tall person, and impressive. The handling and power are awesome as they always have been with the Maxima. I have zero complaints.
