great step down car

I have owned SUV's for 13 years and decided that I no longer needed something so large with not so great gas mileage. I started looking into hatchbacks because they typically sit higher off the ground than a sedan and have that nice hatchback top opening back door like SUV's. I was happy to find the Nissan Versa Hatchback. I think this is the perfect car for someone who is an SUV driver who wants something smaller! It's a great step down for those used to the way an SUV drives. The Versa sits up higher and i often forget i'm driving such a small car. The inside is spacious. In fact the back seat of my Versa is bigger and has far more leg room than my old SUV. The Versa has good pick up and it's just such a simple car to drive. I have been getting decent gas mileage. I drive about half hwy and half around town and i'm averaging about 30-33 mpg. The gas tank is small, i believe just 11 gal. I do find that i'm filling up often b/c the tank is so small, but i'm getting much better mpg than my old SUV. Overall i do like this car. My only complaints are small ones. It's a pretty basic, no thrills car. There is no mirror under the drivers side visor. There is also no reading light inbetween the 2 front visors. There are no arm rests in the front seat. I had to buy a small pillow to place in between the 2 front seats just for an arm rest. These are somewhat minor things, but i'm not sure why Nissan didn't just add these little touches to make it a bit better. Still, overall, great car that i'm very happy with!!

Very Nice Car

This car is very nice, and extremely fun to drive. Even though it is the 'bottom of the line' of the Nissan Models, it does not feel like it. The car drives very smoothly, and on the highway, it reminds me of a MarioKart. Lots of fun... and its only about $35 to fill it up, which is so much less than my previous car! My only complaint is that the tire gauge light is very, very sensitive, and is constantly going off, with the slightest weather change. Other than that, it is the best car I could have gotten for myself for the money.
