I drove a 2005 for less than a year before I was hit by someone who ran a red light. I loved my Xterra and after seeing how safe I was and my passenger it made me like it even more. I would recommend it to a friend, it has the pick up of a small V8 and the overall durability that will match any SUV.
Great snow car

I live at 6,200 feet and in the winter often have to navigate through almost a foot of unplowed snow. With the addition of BFG All Terrain T/A tires my Xterra easily gets me up my steep driveway. I'm 6'4", 300 lbs. and have ample leg and head room. When shopping for a new car in '07 I literally tried on every non-European suv and crossover. The Xterra was the only model that fit. It also has excellent power for freeway driving and is very maneuverable. My average monthly mpg is 17 and that includes freeway and mountain driving.
The only complaint I have is about the drivers outside mirror. It just does not pan out far enough to give a good view of vehicles to the left.

1st time to own an Xterra. Drives good. Fair gas mileage, as expected. Interior is comfortable; however the center console is located a little too far back to rest your arm on comfortably. Overall, I have been pleased so far with this vehicle.
