I've had my Xterra for almost 2 months now and have been very pleased with it. I purchased it with the intention of being a mid-sized utility for use as an everyday vehicle.
As far as utility, getting the new refrigerator home was a breeze with the fold down seats. Hauling the boat to the lake puts suprisingly very little strain on the engine (260hp).
As far as an everyday vehicle, I'm 6' 3" tall so my seat is usually back. The passengers behind me, of average height, do not have the knee in the seat problem that they did with my old car and they say it is somewhat spacious in the back.
Fuel economy is about 19 around town from the few tanks I've filled. On a recent trip, I got 20-21 on the interstate averaging 75-80 mph.
Overall, pleased with the vehicle.
We purchased our 2013 XTerra Pro4x with 13,000 miles from CarMax. We have now, 18,000 miles, and we have really loved it. I purchased this vehicle for my wife to drive during the winter, and this vehicle had more than one opportunity to prove how fantastic it performed in the snow/ice. One such occasion shut down a major state road, and the state police was forced to divert traffic through neighborhood streets.
Fortunately, with the Xterra, we were able to engage the 4x4 and pull our son out of the ice, drive him to work, and pick him up at 2am in blizzard conditions. The nice thing about the Pro 4x is that it has the added feature of the locking rear differential (though we never needed it, even in those conditions). Perfect vehicle!
