I recently bought a gently used 2006 Xterra SE to replace a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. I honestly thought that I would never find a vehicle that I would enjoy more than I enjoyed my jeep. But was suprised when I found the Xterra. The roomy interior and large cargo space in the back are great. I also enjoy the Rockford Fosgate system that came in the vehicle. The steering wheel controls are an excellent feature and easy to adjust to. It rugged capabilities are also great. No need to worry about the large puddles after the rain or the uneven pavement on the higheay from construction, the Xterra handle it all VERY well.
The only down sides are that the cup holders have aweful inserts that suction themselves to the end of larger cups. While they can be removed, the cup is usually to small for the now large opening. The other down side is that the center console is low and does not allow you to rest your arm on it, so the driver (and passenger alike) only have one arm rest.
I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.

I love my Xterra! It has great get up and go, it's fun to drive (it's a 6 speed manual), and just an all around good car. Haven't had any issues with it. It's also a bit taller than other trucks, so visibility on the road is good, and we can always find it in a crowded parking lot! And every time I look at it, I just think, "It's so pretty!"

This vehicle is just plain useful. From bringing home lumber on the roof rack to the storage under the cargo floor for tools and road side emergency supplies. I have a place for everything so there's nothing rolling around. I love the first aid kit cavity in the hatch. Two glove boxes, an oversized sunglass cubby and this nifty space in front of the shifter that holds a book on CD as if it was meant to. Need more space, just fold down the rear seats. It drives very well considering this is a truck underneath. For one tank of regular fuel I drove like your grandma and got 22 mpg combined city streets and freeway.
The 261hp 4.0 liter engine gets up and moves when you need it too. It does everything I need or expect it to do.
