I love my Xterra! It has great get up and go, it's fun to drive (it's a 6 speed manual), and just an all around good car. Haven't had any issues with it. It's also a bit taller than other trucks, so visibility on the road is good, and we can always find it in a crowded parking lot! And every time I look at it, I just think, "It's so pretty!"
I really love this vechile. I previously owned a 2003. I have to say that there is more space up front, rides smoother and has a lot more power to it, especially when you're trying to merge into traffic from the onramp. The only thing that still needs to be addressed is the leg room in the back seat. There is no space for you're feet. Then again, I don't plan on sitting in the back seat of my own car, so I really don't mind all that much. Handles great and definately roomier than the '03. I'm going for more comfort than performance in this review. I'm a tall person and not small, but not fat either. The seats in the '03 were hard and small. It was uncomfortable for long distance drives. The new seats are wider and softer. Definately makes that long drive more bearable. I would absolutely recommed this to anyone else.
I recently bought a gently used 2006 Xterra SE to replace a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. I honestly thought that I would never find a vehicle that I would enjoy more than I enjoyed my jeep. But was suprised when I found the Xterra. The roomy interior and large cargo space in the back are great. I also enjoy the Rockford Fosgate system that came in the vehicle. The steering wheel controls are an excellent feature and easy to adjust to. It rugged capabilities are also great. No need to worry about the large puddles after the rain or the uneven pavement on the higheay from construction, the Xterra handle it all VERY well. The only down sides are that the cup holders have aweful inserts that suction themselves to the end of larger cups. While they can be removed, the cup is usually to small for the now large opening. The other down side is that the center console is low and does not allow you to rest your arm on it, so the driver (and passenger alike) only have one arm rest. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone.
