A four-door Corvette
I have owned everything from a 1945 Willy's to a 600 hp Super Late Model Stock Car, and when it came time to buy a four-door American (Ok,Australian GM) car with a real trunk, big back seat, rear-wheel drive and enough HP to make it entertaining, the list was short, but the choice clear: A G8 GT. For the money, you can't beat this car. Build quality is excellent as the Australians don't tolerate bad cars. Interior plastics could be better, but hey, it's $40,000 cheaper than an M5 and nearly as fast. It sits on the road beautifully and drives much "smaller" than it is. Excellent power and amenities, plus you can put 5 people in with luggage with no issues. I regularly get 20+ mpg, and 360+ hp with that unmistakable American V8 growl makes this one fun car to drive. Highly recommended, and hard to touch performance and value for the price. Yes, they only made it for two years, but Chevy has a future for this car, so parts will be around for a long time.
fun and useful
My main reason for watching for this model was that it came with roof rails standard, in order to mount bike carriers on top. I had no idea that it would be so much fun to drive! Didn't know it was based on a Matrix chassis, am pleased that Pontiac didn't make it feel like an americanmade model, ponderous and sluggish. It is quick, agile, handles well, good visibility, and has four-wheel disc brakes: take note any remaining american car makers... In addition to its fun performance, it is remarkably comfortable for me, a bit taller than average. The drivers' seat is fully adjustable, and steering column can be set vertically. Finally, the back seats can be folded flat, and it carries a surprising amount in back. All told, very fun, and very useful!
Mt Dream Car
This car was purchased as a replacement for a 2004 Sunbird Poitiac, the car is excellent in both handling, performance, and looks. The 18" tires make it a great ride, the gas mileage is around 20 in the city, and 24 on the road, it is hard to keep the car down under 70 MPH, it likes to run. The V-6 engine is plenty fast on take off and the transmission is smooth. My car has all the options, including heated seats, auto lights, Moonson radio, exterior start. My car is a hard top convertible with the top folding down into the trunk, it works to a tee. Having owned many Pontiacs to me this is the top of the line. I would recommend this car to everyone.
