I hated to see Pontiac go, I bought one of the last G8 GTs on the lot in 2009 and it has been a great car. The car has been great to me. It seems that Pontiac was just starting to get the quality thing right when GM decided to pull the plug. I have no complaints about this car. I have had it for almost three years and it has never had to go to the dealer except for oil changes, tire rotations and a Trans change. If you are in the market for something like a BMW, don't waste your money on a BMW, get a G8 they look just as good, they have power, the quality is great and they are cheaper than BMW, what more can you ask?
A G8 GT is a Half Price BMW M5

I purchased a Pontiac G8 GT and I couldn't be happier with it. The interior feels solid and comes well appointed for the money you spend. There is a ton of room both in the front and back seats and the seats are comfortable as can be. The exterior styling definitely turns heads as well. The best part about the car though is the massive 6.0L V8 that puts out 360 HP and rockets from 0-60 in just over 5 seconds. Add a simple after market CAI and you have a BMW eater. While being a huge engine, the displacement on demand system can turn off half the cylinders while cruising on the highway to attain a very respectable 25 MPG, but if you have a lead foot expect more in the range of 17-18. I am so happy with my purchase and I would highly recommended it.
Though its tenure was short-lived and it was only available in the US for a single model year, the Pontiac G8 is still largely considered one of the best American sedans produced in recent history. The G8 was first developed and produced in Australia, where it was known as the Holden Commodore. It was rebadged for the North American market in 2008, where it replaced the Pontiac Bonneville.
