I hated to see Pontiac go, I bought one of the last G8 GTs on the lot in 2009 and it has been a great car. The car has been great to me. It seems that Pontiac was just starting to get the quality thing right when GM decided to pull the plug. I have no complaints about this car. I have had it for almost three years and it has never had to go to the dealer except for oil changes, tire rotations and a Trans change. If you are in the market for something like a BMW, don't waste your money on a BMW, get a G8 they look just as good, they have power, the quality is great and they are cheaper than BMW, what more can you ask?
MY G8 GT
2009 Pontiac G8Nando G8 GT - Houston10/21/2010
I love this car, I looked at the Charger RT and SRT-8 but this one just looked way better and when we drove it, it was awesome, this car just turns heads when I drive it here in Houston !!!!
Chevy LS motor
top notch interior fit and finish
NBA player leg room plus decent headroom
BMW looks with a GM price
driver's seat is not extremely comfortable.
no spare tire. I had to buy a Holden compact spare.
stereo is subpar to me. Knobs and controls are goofy looking.
OVerall this car is great for the money. gets better gas mileage than most cars one quarter of its performance. gets 15/16 around town and over 25mpg on the interstate and i drive harder than normal.
if GM sells this type car again with a chevy badge, i would buy oone new in a heartbeat.
Though its tenure was short-lived and it was only available in the US for a single model year, the Pontiac G8 is still largely considered one of the best American sedans produced in recent history. The G8 was first developed and produced in Australia, where it was known as the Holden Commodore. It was rebadged for the North American market in 2008, where it replaced the Pontiac Bonneville.
