This car is fantastic. The room, the power, the aggressive good looks, the luxury features, the ride and the handling are all first rate. Did I mention the power? I've had this car for 6 weeks now and I love it. It's big, but it doesn't feel big when you're driving it. My last car was a 1996 Firebird and this G8 GT doesn't feel any bigger when you're driving it. It handles like a true performance car and the acceleration from the LS2 6.0 liter is phenomenal. It's got so much room inside and the trunk is huge yet when you drive it you'd think it was a sports car. Been wanting one of these for about 8 months. Got it in January and I haven't looked back. Loads of convenience features. Great stereo. COmfortable car. Mine is red and I get lots of looks and since there are not a lot around, you stand out from the crowd. Not like driving a dime-a-dozen Camry or Accord. No worry about parts or service either since underneath the Camaro is basically the same car on the same Zeta platform. And next year the G8 will be imported to the U.S. badged as a Chevy police car which means plenty of parts for years to come. It's like a GTO with 2 spare doors.
I hated to see Pontiac go, I bought one of the last G8 GTs on the lot in 2009 and it has been a great car. The car has been great to me. It seems that Pontiac was just starting to get the quality thing right when GM decided to pull the plug. I have no complaints about this car. I have had it for almost three years and it has never had to go to the dealer except for oil changes, tire rotations and a Trans change. If you are in the market for something like a BMW, don't waste your money on a BMW, get a G8 they look just as good, they have power, the quality is great and they are cheaper than BMW, what more can you ask?
This car is amazing. I was originally looking at a 5 series BMW, but read great reviews about this car so I decided to check them out. I'm glad I did. I think this car handles better than the BMW, has more get-up-and-go, and I always get compliments on the appearance. The interior is roomy and nice. Two full grown adults can ride comfortably in the back seat. Forget the luxury imports, and buy a G8 GT. It's twice the car at half the price. I hope GM rebrands it, and continues to sell it. I want another one :-)
