Pros-Love the look of the car. It handles like a sports car with the 5-speed manual transmission. It had really low miles and was in excellent condition.
Cons- Very light rear, so it is very easy to lose control in rain. Manual roof- although it takes about 3-5 min. to lower.
Super Toyota reliabilty in a snazzy Pontiac package
2008 Pontiac VibeTerri - Rockledge, PA07/11/2014
A consumer report top pick, it's roomy, reliable and fun to drive. It handles well with great acceleration and smooth shifting up or down. It gets excellent mileage, 35 mpg with a full load and the cruise set at 70. My friend also owns this same car and I bought mine because of how much I liked it.
Best little car
2009 Pontiac G5Nurse T - Wilimington, NC11/09/2017
I purchased this car used in 2012 when it had about 60k miles on it. For the next 5+ years I enjoyed this car beyond belief. It was recently totaled and I am devastated.
This 5 speed was so fun to drive. It was a primary car for me and I really enjoyed the responsiveness of this car.
Not to mention it was quite a looker and the only thing that I added was aftermarket rims.
The biggest pro was that this car was extremely reliable and I had no major issues at all. I maintained it well and it served me well. I had planned to drive it forever and estimate that I could have easily gotten another 100k out of her.
This is why now, even with all the newer more cars out there, I am considering buying another in 2017!
Though its tenure was short-lived and it was only available in the US for a single model year, the Pontiac G8 is still largely considered one of the best American sedans produced in recent history. The G8 was first developed and produced in Australia, where it was known as the Holden Commodore. It was rebadged for the North American market in 2008, where it replaced the Pontiac Bonneville.
