The vibe has been great. I have driven it about 2000 miles since purchase and have had no major concerns. However, as it is not perfect I will still include a list of pros and cons.
-sleek, modern styling
-reasonable responsive performance(with 2.4L engine option)
-Driver-selectable gear range further increases responsiveness
-HUGE cargo capacity for such a small car. The rear seats can fold down creating a cavernous interior.
-steering wheel is too far away(can't move seat closer or pedals are too close)(for reference, I am 5'11")
-armrests are tiny and inconveniently located
-inadequate lumbar support
The cons are all related to comfort. However, not one of them is enough to cause me to regret my purchase. The comfort issues only really become an issue on longer drives (over an hour).
The car drives very well and has great performance for the price. The 5-speed transmission and electronic stability control are big plusses.
2009 Pontiac VibeHappy - Las Vegas, NV06/09/2011
This the first used car that we have ever purchased. Overall we have been pleased so far with our decision. Comfort is most important that this Vibe definitely has this feature. Everything about this car has not disappointed us to this date. It was a good decision on our part.
2009 Pontiac VibeJoe P - Hartford, CT10/25/2012
The 2009 Vibe is exactly what I wanted - a hatchback-style without having an oversized SUV-type car. It looks great, drives smooth, and averages around 31mpg. The car came from Carmax in excellent condition, and after putting over 3,000 miles on the car in about six weeks I've had no issues whatsoever.
Though its tenure was short-lived and it was only available in the US for a single model year, the Pontiac G8 is still largely considered one of the best American sedans produced in recent history. The G8 was first developed and produced in Australia, where it was known as the Holden Commodore. It was rebadged for the North American market in 2008, where it replaced the Pontiac Bonneville.
