Happy with my purchase

I previously had a 2012 Honda Accord EX-L... I liked it, but I have a 2yr old and a wife that loves to camp/hike/raft. I looked around for an alternave to the Outback, since they are far too expensive used, and financers are skittish about mileage. In the end, the vibe had everything we wanted, for a reasonable price (the Matrix was a little more expensive, because of the Toyota name). I get about 300 miles per tank with mixed highway/city driving, and it has a 13 gallon tank. The engine will get you out of trouble if you merge in front of a semi, and the brakes will save your from hitting that dang 2x4 that is laying in the middle of the road. Handling is pretty responsive, too. I have pushed it a bit on the back roads of East TN, but had no problems sticking the corners. Of course, good tires are key to this. If you get lame tires, then you'll have lame traction. I spent $85 on an oil change/rotation/rebalance, the other day at a good, but expensive auto center. Two features that I really enjoy are: Once the rear seats are folded down, there is a tremendous amount of space. Also, how the trunck area and back of the rear seats are hard plastic, that are easy to clean. So, all the wet nasty junk that you always have after camping/rafting, is not going to keep your car stinking forever. The last thing I can think of, is that a booster seat and two car seats can fit side by side, in the back. It's tight, but it can be done.

09 Vibe GT Rocks!

What a great running, reliable, and handy vehicle. Sporty, sharp looking, and dependable, great handling, and cool features. It's a Toyota Matrix with Pontiac markings, built from the same parts in the Toyota plant in California. The Monsoon Stereo /System is on par with Bose. Gas mileage is a little over 30 mpg. all-round, with the larger Camry motor that is in the GT model, instead of the Corolla motor in the Stndard Vibe. . The extra power is worth it, especially if you merge on and off of busy highways, expressways, etc. Almost like a 6 cyl. but with much better mileage. A keeper that is handy in EVERY way. Quality in a reasonably priced , does it all vehicle.
