I BOUGHT A NEW 2004 VIBE AND HAVE PUT 40,000 MILES ON IT IN 2 YEARS. THE ONLY MAINTENANCE ITEM I HAD WAS THE REAR WINDOW WASHER, WHICH DRIBBLES A WORTHLESS LITTLE STREAM OF WATER FOR THE BLADE TO SMEAR BACK AND FORTH. THEY COULDNT FIX IT. BUT THAT IS SMALL POTATOES COMPARED TO A FLAWLESS 2 YRS OF HEAVY USE. THE CAR FEELS BIGGER THAN IT IS WHEN YOU DRIVE IT. THE 34MPG HIGHWAY OVERCOMES THE FEW TIMES YOU WANT MORE POWER TO ACCELERATE. I OFTEN DRIVE FOR 3 HOURS AT A TIME AND DONT FEEL CRAMPED OR FATIQUED AFTERWARDS. THE VIBE IS A BETTER USED CAR VALUE THAN THE IDENTICAL TOYAOTA MATRIX.
Great for Sales Travel

I recently took a job where I will be selling large equipment that needed to be transported throughout the DCMDVA area for product demonstrations. I needed a car that could hold multiple pieces of equipment, but still have great mileage and be a comfortable ride. The Vibe was just that. I have the ability to fit a box (dimensions 28X19X19) in the trunk without folding any of the seats down!! I can fit 3 of those boxes and still have room for a small suitcase when I fold both seats down.
I love the style, I love how it is still a smaller lower riding vehicle, but does not feel too light when you are driving it (like the honda fit does).
I have been getting great mileage, and my next step is to outfit the roof rack to put my bicycle up there. I cannot wait!
Superb vehicle if you need to travel long distances and need good mileage, but also need a lot of storage space.

The 2009 Vibe is exactly what I wanted - a hatchback-style without having an oversized SUV-type car. It looks great, drives smooth, and averages around 31mpg. The car came from Carmax in excellent condition, and after putting over 3,000 miles on the car in about six weeks I've had no issues whatsoever.
