Transmission: Manual 5 Speed Color: Silver Avg. Vehicle Review: 5 (10 reviews) "My 2008 Boxster S has reached the maximum depreciation- it has already depreciated by almost 50%, and shouldn't really drop much more. But, because these are weekend and fun cars, you can get one with VERY low mileage. Because they were expensive new, they are generally maintained well. And honestly, looking at 2 seater sports cars, there just isn't anything out there as much fun. The Audi TT & BMW Z3 both understeer, the Benz SLK lacks the sporting intentions, and the FRS/BRZ twins are lacking in the HP dept. Even considering Nissan GTR, BMW M3, Audi S4, etc; they are all just bloated compared to the Boxster/Cayman. It may be blasphemous to other P-car owners, but even the 911's I tested weren't as fun as this little mid-engine car!"

Transmission: Manual 6 Speed Color: Yellow Avg. Vehicle Review: 5 (10 reviews) "When it comes to the ultimate driving experience, there really is nothing better than an open top roadster with great looks, plenty of horsepower, and that IT factor that seperates you from the grocery-getters on the road. The 2008 Porsche Boxster S is a great example of just that! The Porsche Boxster has been around for several years and redesigns, and has remained one of the most popular Porsche models for a couple of reasons: Great handling mid-engine exotic car, and great entry price for someone looking for a luxury/performance auto. The model I'm reviewing is the S with the 295 HP 3.4L Boxer 6 cyclinder engine and 6 speed manual trans. This power plant provides gobs of torque and never needs to redline in order to get power to the pavement. The massive 19 inch (optional) wheels are not only great to look at, but make the car feel planted and stable. They are wide enough that from the rear of the car, it looks like it means business. The exhaust note is subtle for some tastes, but at low-end grunts, it sounds amazing. Driving this car is effortless and it goes wherever you point it because of the sporty suspension and steering. Everything is rock solid. As for the interior, the comfort is considerable. I'm 6'-3" tall and fit well inside the cabin. The two seats adjust just enough for anyone and with the seat heaters...well let's just say heaven! The dash has a ton of information available by a lever on the steering column (Tire pressure, oil, gas mileage, etc.). This will take time and effort of reading the manual to understand everything available. Some models have a LAP timer for the track! The Bose Sound system is okay, but nothing special in my opinion. However, this is a small interior and you are never going to get massive sound from a small interior. The fit and finish on everything is German quality. Don't use the cup holders, they are not meant to be used and will fail you every time. My Porsche came with an Ipod adapter thank goodness, because the integrated antenae (in the windshield I believe) doesn't pick up my favorite station. One last note, the pedals are placed for spirited driving and are close together. If you have big feet, you may want to get minimal driving shoes to wear...seriously, work boots will not cut it and you'll be hitting two pedals at once. Finally, the convertable top is why I bought the car. I go everywhere top-down. It takes one clamp in the center and then a button electronically takes the top down and up. You must hold it all the way and wait for the deck lid cover to close completely and you'll be on your way. It's fast enough that you can do it at a stoplight without holding traffic! You can operate it at up to 30 mph as well. There is not a better looking roadster with the top down than the Boxster S. Simply fantastic fun and the wind is controlled by the back windscreen for the most part. NOW you can hear the exhaust! And even better, you can see the smiles of all the people you pass by as they envy your PORSCHE!"

N I C E

2008 Porsche Boxster Porche23 - , 08/09/2013

I have always loved Porsche and while I did have mixed feelings on the Boxster at the onset, just like I had mixed emotions on the 924s and 944s, the Boxster S though grew on me quick and fast. Almost 300 horses on a lighter two seater convertible, mid-engine, rear wheel drive car, it can literally sweep you off your feet. It is a great handling sports car that loves the curves, bends, ups and downs of the road. There are other cars that I love too but the Boxster S? My reality check that offers great value for my hard earned money. I dont really view the Boxster S as a car that would get me from point A to point B, for me, this is a toy that will always get me from point A to point B without missing the X, Y and Zs.
