My 2008 Boxster S has reached the maximum depreciation- it has already depreciated by almost 50%, and shouldn't really drop much more. But, because these are weekend and fun cars, you can get one with VERY low mileage. Because they were expensive new, they are generally maintained well. And honestly, looking at 2 seater sports cars, there just isn't anything out there as much fun. The Audi TT & BMW Z3 both understeer, the Benz SLK lacks the sporting intentions, and the FRS/BRZ twins are lacking in the HP dept. Even considering Nissan GTR, BMW M3, Audi S4, etc; they are all just bloated compared to the Boxster/Cayman. It may be blasphemous to other P-car owners, but even the 911's I tested weren't as fun as this little mid-engine car!
I have always loved Porsche and while I did have mixed feelings on the Boxster at the onset, just like I had mixed emotions on the 924s and 944s, the Boxster S though grew on me quick and fast. Almost 300 horses on a lighter two seater convertible, mid-engine, rear wheel drive car, it can literally sweep you off your feet. It is a great handling sports car that loves the curves, bends, ups and downs of the road. There are other cars that I love too but the Boxster S? My reality check that offers great value for my hard earned money. I dont really view the Boxster S as a car that would get me from point A to point B, for me, this is a toy that will always get me from point A to point B without missing the X, Y and Zs.
I searched for two years for a Porsche Boxster of this high quality. I have wanted a Porsche Boxster since I was ten years old. I had searched the internet and finally narrowed it down to three cars in the southern region. By far, this car was the baby I was looking for. I drove over four hours to pick the car up and when I arrived the dearlership already placed a sold sign on the front windshield. They knew, I was not leaving without that car. Keep in mind, I had not even driven the car. When I got into the car and drove it; it was like magic. They cleaned her up, I signed my life away, put the top down, and I drove away into the sunset. Thank You, Carmax... "T"
