If you are into electronic gadgets and fancy features, go buy a BMW or a Mercedes. If you are into an absolutely thrilling ride, a ridiculous amount of power, and amazing handling, then the Porsche Boxster S is the way to go. The Porsche Boxster S offers all of these in a beautiful package that will be sure to turn heads wherever you go, and it is amazingly easy to drive to boot. I previously owned a 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring and a 2008 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro and the Porsche Boxster S blows both of those cars away. The Audi had a bunch of great gadgets and offered a much more comfortable ride, and the 3.5-liter V6 in the 350Z offered a much better torque band, but overall the Boxster S offers a much more exhilirating ride.
On the down side, the stereo is unimpressive (even with the Bose package) and I can't fit my golf clubs anywhere except the passenger seat...
I OWNED A PORCHE BOXTER FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS AND IT WAS GREAT!! VERY RELIABLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAR. I NEVER HAD ANY TECHNICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. I JUST TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE.
Most fun 2-seater 'vert you can buy. Period.

My 2008 Boxster S has reached the maximum depreciation- it has already depreciated by almost 50%, and shouldn't really drop much more. But, because these are weekend and fun cars, you can get one with VERY low mileage. Because they were expensive new, they are generally maintained well. And honestly, looking at 2 seater sports cars, there just isn't anything out there as much fun. The Audi TT & BMW Z3 both understeer, the Benz SLK lacks the sporting intentions, and the FRS/BRZ twins are lacking in the HP dept. Even considering Nissan GTR, BMW M3, Audi S4, etc; they are all just bloated compared to the Boxster/Cayman. It may be blasphemous to other P-car owners, but even the 911's I tested weren't as fun as this little mid-engine car!
