Customer Review Summary for Saturn Aura

Great car

2008 Saturn Aura Herman - Arlington, Tx 08/08/2012

I never though I would buy a Saturn, but this car is great so far no issues. Stylish, but sporty performance when needed. A little loose in the handling but I can deal with that. Great value for the price!! The Carmax experience leaves me wanting to buy another car soon.

Transmission problem

2009 Saturn Aura J Ward - Nashville, TN 10/22/2016

I have 2 saturns and it seem they have transmission problem and a lot of mechanical problems. One day all the doors will unlock the next day only one door will unlock.

2007 Saturn Aura -- comfortable and economical

2007 Saturn Aura JanetM - Knoxville, TN 04/04/2011

I purchased a 2007 Saturn Aura XR (6 cylinder) with 35k miles on the odometer just over a month ago, and have been extremely satisfied with it. This is my third Saturn; my first saved my life when I was rear-ended by a loaded 18-wheeler nine years ago, and my second was unfortunately totaled out when I was rear-ended by a Jeep a couple of months ago. The Aura is a bit smaller than my previous Saturn, an L200, but is still roomy and comfortable, with a large trunk (although I think the trunk opening may be a bit narrower). I don't know if it's standard, but my car has elastic netting across both back wheel wells to create a stable holding area for lightweight items that might otherwise scatter all over the trunk. The Aura runs smoothly and quietly, and is working its way up to reasonable gas mileage (I believe the mileage and fuel economy settings may have been reset to -0- while the car was being refurbished). It's easy to drive and easy to maneuver. I like the extra power from the V6. I enjoy the climate control system; rather than an analog dial for the balance of chilled air vs. warm air, I can set a temperature, set the control on "auto", and allow the thermostat to self-regulate. This is very pleasant, since spring weather means dramatic temperature fluctuations. I look forward to testing it out come winter. This car has auxiliary controls for the sound system on the steering wheel; I can raise and lower the volume and skip-to-next (or previous) for both CD tracks and selected radio stations. The six CD-changer is a wonderful thing; however, I don't know if this was standard equipment. I haven't tested it, but this car also has a separate sound system for the back seat, complete with two sets of wireless headphones. The instrument cluster includes a whole series of readouts, accessed from a control on the steering wheel. I can cycle through * temp and odometer, * two trip odometers, * fuel range remaining, * fuel economy, and * oil life remaining. My internal sense of direction is pretty poor, and I get lost easily. Having the compass indicator in my rear-view mirror has been fascinating, as I keep finding myself muttering, "North? Really??", but it does make it easier to get back in at least the right direction when I've missed a turn. The only thing I don't like about this particular car is the combination of tinted windows and the rear-view mirror that automatically compensates for bright headlights in following cars. This makes it more difficult for me to judge how much space there really is between me and the car behind me. I expect that with time, I will adjust to this change. Overall, I can't say enough good about Saturns in general and the Saturn Aura XR in particular. I would encourage any of my friends and relatives to purchase one.
