I brought my Saturn as a birthday gift to myself - I really love the interior and exterior design. The gas milage is very good. I have a 23yr. old son who is really into the older model cars, he drove my Saturn a few times and now I almost have to race him to my car because he wants to use my Saturn more than his own car. I think I made a very good choice in buying the Saturn.
This is my second ION 3 Coupe. The first was destroyed in a near head-on collision. When the operator of the tow yard saw the damage, and learned I had just been in the car, he remarked "When I see damage like this, the driver doesn't walk away", but I and my wife did, because this is a tough little car. Because Saturn doesn't make automobiles anymore, I searched for a different car, all the while missing my ION coupe. Then my wife located one in a neighboring state. The car was two years younger, and had half the miles of my old coupe. A test drive and some signed documents, and it was mine. The ION coupe has a lower roof line than the sedan, usually a spoiler on the back, and mine is a 5 speed. The power from the 2.6 litre engine is suprising when meshed with the 5 speed transmission. Even with four adults in the seats, the pickup is quick and steady. The addition of a cruise control on a manual transmission makes highway driving much more relaxed. The CD/MP3 player has good sound and an aux input jack for my iPod or portable XM radio. Even though I still miss my former coupe, the sunroof and leather seats make up for pain. I am very glad my wife found this ION coupe and I plan on driving it for years to come.
This was a super car for my college experience! It took me where I needed and wanted to go and didn't cost much to get me there. Some of the negative sides to this vehicle is the air makes a loud noise when it's running and the dealership states that all IONs make this noise (and after trying out 3 of the ones on their lot I believed them) and the upholstery is EXTREMELY hard to keep clean. Even spilling water stains the seats. I would recommend seat covers. I never had a major problem out of this car- I was in 2 wrecks and came out completely fine. It's safe and I enjoyed it.
