I love my saturn....unless it is a cold day. When the saturn IONS first came out there was/is a defect with "something" that if your car is too cold (I live in New England) it may not start and will go into a lock down mode for 10 min. During this time you CANNOT start it and have to wait it out freezing the entire time. I have a portable heater I use and direct under the steering wheel heating the wires to an excceptable degree. % months of the year i hate trying to start it, the rest of the year I LOVE IT. The company refuses to fix the problem for me. The first year I had it, they could not understand what was wrong. The second year, they had had many complaints so they KNEW what needed to be fixed, but i had so many miles onthe car, they wouldnt honour my warrenty. So i drive around with a space heater and a blanket all winter!!! My husband says we are never getting another Saturn...but i love it any way
The car is decent. With that being said, it seemed like a lot of stuff went wrong after the 30 day warranty expired. My hubcaps keep falling off, my windshield washers don't work, and I'm leaking power steering fluid. Also the drivers side tie rods will not pass inspection. I think you have to take a mechanic to buy any car, which I didn't so it's on me.
This car is a blast to drive. I've owned a 2007 & 2008. Not many people know this but when you purchased this car new they had a dealer installed option. It was a larger Borg Warner Turbo giving you 300hp vs 260hp standard in the Red Line. My 2008 had that upgrade and the difference is night and day! I raced a new Mustang 5.0 V8 and we were dead even. His eyes were as big as a Frisbee! I just sold mine because some guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It was red w/red leather, perfect. Now I'm kicking myself.
The only drawback on this car is they should of provided a bigger trunk to actually "take" this fun car somewhere. Maybe an overnight bag at best.
Nothing compares to the feeling of the wind whipping your hair back as you cruise in a well-built convertible. Well, almost nothing—the feeling of getting a great deal on your vehicle purchase is definitely a close second. You can enjoy both of these awesome sensations at the same time by selecting a high-quality convertible that sells for less than $20,000.
