I bought 2006 xA in Jan '07 from Toyota Dealer as a commuter car with room to haul stuff. I'd never heard of Scion & decided it was better for me than Yarus, Matrix or Corolla. Liked it immediately except for really hard arm rest and gauges in center of dash which I became used to. Very comfortable front seats. Suburban to city commute of 23 miles each way with 1/2 local & 1/2 freeway with an average 35 to 37 mpg depending on speed. Been on several 400 mile trips with no handling concerns. Versitle rear cargo area as I carried a 200# tree ball with only a little deformation of deck board which I now cover with a piece of plywood when needed. In 12/09 I rear ended a car at about 10 mph causing $2600. damage to the front end although I drove it for 2 days before getting it to body shop. In Jan '11 I was rear ended at about 20mph. Originally insurance estimated $5600. of damage however later they totaled it. I'm pretty disappointed and am looking for another one. In 43,000 miles there were NO problems.

My Scion xa has been great. I zip all over town, get great gas mileage(about 31 mpg), and have fun driving!
a great investment

I purchased this car because I wanted something that was just my size and cute. The car is great I enjoy every minute in and my child like it to. It has good gas mileage trust me I have a heavy foot. If you are looking for a car to keep for a while invest in a Scion anyone pick one.
