It is small outside but huge inside, and designed in minimalist style. It gets fabulous mileage and requires extremely little maintenance. It is a brilliant, elegant design, and is really a Toyota! When it first came out, it was a funny looking best kept secret of quality assurance. I drove many Zipcars in 2006 and bought my favorite, but a new one. The XB was hands down best for being cheap, fun, hauling junk, and getting great mileage. I also think ANY car is better with manual transmish. Lots of room inside thanks to the high square shape. A little truck really. And by now a cult classic too. It's the boxiest. Still love it, but I get a company car now and must sell.
Love my Xb

I have had my little Xb for 4 years now and still love driving it after all these years. It is roomy and comfortable and handles really well...just like a true partnership...me and my car.
I don't have to drive very far to work now, compared to 2 years ago, so I only fill up once every 2 weeks and love the gas mileage it gets. It looks like a little match box car and gets a smile wherever I go and astonishment when someone gets in it and sees all the room that it has. I have moved and transported all the things that mattered in my life (6 cats in 3 carriers - big and small) with no worries about safety. I'll keep my Xb until it can't run no more!
This is a stylish ride. It is fun to drive. My very large dog fits nicely in the back with the seats down. Feels a bit like a go cart. The gas milage is great using the 5 speed transmission.
It does feel a little cheap. There is a lot of plastic and cardboard. There is no luxury here but it is a very utilitarian vehicle. Pretty darn pleased... so far.
