Customer Review Summary for Scion xB
It's the newest and lowest mileage car I've had.
2012 Scion xBGayle H - Newark, DE12/31/2015
I had a list of features I was looking for. This is the newest and lowest mileage car with the most technology I've ever had. First time getting a loan and making payments so it had to fit my short term and long term requirements. I had a Honda CRV for 12.5 years as an example. I wanted to be able to sit up and have good visibility through the windows, good gas mileage, be able to fit a bike and cargo in the back with a door that lifts up, not sideways, comfortable seating for me, good overall condition, good handling (especially in the rain), etc. The Scion has those features and it is a manual drive which is fine for me. I can only find one thing I would change is that the exterior frame is low which I am concerned about being dented.
This is a stylish ride. It is fun to drive. My very large dog fits nicely in the back with the seats down. Feels a bit like a go cart. The gas milage is great using the 5 speed transmission.
It does feel a little cheap. There is a lot of plastic and cardboard. There is no luxury here but it is a very utilitarian vehicle. Pretty darn pleased... so far.
It is small outside but huge inside, and designed in minimalist style. It gets fabulous mileage and requires extremely little maintenance. It is a brilliant, elegant design, and is really a Toyota! When it first came out, it was a funny looking best kept secret of quality assurance. I drove many Zipcars in 2006 and bought my favorite, but a new one. The XB was hands down best for being cheap, fun, hauling junk, and getting great mileage. I also think ANY car is better with manual transmish. Lots of room inside thanks to the high square shape. A little truck really. And by now a cult classic too. It's the boxiest. Still love it, but I get a company car now and must sell.
