I like the looks and handling of the 08 XB, but I wish Toyota would have put a little more thought into safety features. The XB doesn't come with daytime running lights and you can't order them. I had to locate lights that would provide the safety I wanted and that would also look good. After buying the lights and having them installed it cost me an additional $500. The navigation system is confusing and when it is in the open position it's impossible to read. The reminder noise that is enacted when the lights are left on is too quiet and is just a continuous hum. I wish the lights were automatic. The vinyl cover covering the cargo area doesn't fit very well and the velcro straps keep detaching. When you have the factory tinted windows the rear view mirror is almost useless. I wish the XB had an automatic tailgate because when your hands are full it's a pain to have to put everything down before you load your groceries. My car had all the instruction manuals and when I first saw the car they were in a nice little black case, but after picking up the car I noticed the case was missing. The wheel covers are cheap looking plastic so I had them replaced with Volocity 18" rims and tires. That really improved the looks along with the vertical running lights. Overall I like the XB, but I wish it were a little quieter.
It is very easy to get in/out, big opening in doors. Has has plenty of room for people and stuff. It's not as big as mini-van but has more/same as many cross-overs. It drives handles well, easy to park. Gas mileage is 26-29 overall. Probably like a Mini-Cooper.
It's great !!!! runs good , and if take good care of it, like I do of mine, will last forever. !!! It's soooo quick, I hope to NEVER sell this car , in fact , as soon as circumstances permit , I will give her the best makeover !!!, she doesn't really need it, but just to make a point. ---Great ride for the money.!!! Can't believe they stop making them.
