I must honestly disclose that I am having trouble adjusting to a small car after years of driving full size vehicles. Thankfully, this xD has made the transition bearable, and if I may, even enjoyable. The xD is a solid, high quality vehicle that gets superb gas mileage. Driving is comfortable, with highway speeds seemingly optimum for suspension dampening. The faster you go, the smoother the ride.
Lot's of standard features! For what other makes charge extra, Scion gives free. This allowed me to get everything I wanted at near base cost.
Now, to be fair, let me tell you what I do not like about this xD. Black interior is not good in hot climates. The dash material marks up all too easily. Upon ignition starting, the engine revs up to the redline and rattles the dry valves a bit- not good on a cold engine to rev so high.
Overall, I am pleased with the build quality, love the styling, ecstatic about the gas mileage and ease of parking. I think this great little car could be just what I needed to transition off the 'big cars' for good!
50 is Nifty

Earlier this year, I turned 50. Kind of scary sounding. BUT, thanks to many friends and God's impeccable timing, I am the very proud owner of a VERY COOL car which helps take the sting out of getting older.
Not only is my Scion xD a cool looking car, she is VERY fuel efficient, feels very "solid" to be a small car, and she is comfortable for a plus sized woman such as myself. In addition, I have a friend in a wheelchair who needs to be lifted in and out of the car. In all of our travels and dealing with various rentals and taxies, this Scion is absolutely the easiest vehicle to get her in and out of....then just fold down the seats in the back, pop her wheelchair in and we are good to go !
I do wish there was a driver's right side armrest but without it, I am sitting up straighter when I drive.
I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone...but not mine - you have to go find your own.
