I spent a full week reviewing and selecting this car.I originally wanted an XB wagon( also an excellent choice) but my mind was made up when I drove the XD. Everything I wanted including room to pick up small pieces of furniture I reupholster!Also plenty of room for friends and all their CAMPING equipment to boot.Yes, we took it camping that same night!
Although the car does very well with gas mileage, it is not real comfortable. Sometimes the ABS and tracking system can be overly sensitive and the wiper blade for the rear window is useless. Also, if the windows are down, the car makes a loud vibrating noise.
I bought my Scion xd brand new in 2007 ('08 model). I do regular maintenance on my car and have had no major mechanical issues. It now has almost 100k miles and still runs better than ever. On the highway I usually get 35mpg every tank (a little less if you run the a/c) but always over 30mpg. Great car for the money (< $20k) very reliable and great mpg.
