Customer Review Summary for Mercury Sport Utilities
Great full size SUV
2009 Mercury MountaineerBen D - New Bern, NC01/11/2016
Rides very well and has many nice features that newer cars have cut. I get about 21 MPG on mix of city and some rural driving, not too bad. The 4L engine is adequate, but noticeable difference to my previous big engine Mountaineer. Overall I am happy with it.
This is my third Exploer / Mountaineer and the new suspension is not an improvement over the previous. The ride is too stiff. You will feel every bump, pothole and defect in the road. If you only go the the corner grocery, the truck is fine. Any trips longer than 15- 20 minutes, look elsewhere for transportation. This Mountaineeer stays parked in the Driveway. I am now driving my 12 year old pickup daily.
Good bang for the buck vehicle
2007 Mercury MarinerUSAF - Illinois08/21/2012
Owned my fwd 6cyl 2007 Mariner for 5 years now and couldn't be happier. Very low maintenance suv and she has started right up for me every day. Just replaced the original battery ($90) after 83k miles and the only other issue was the belt also needed to be replaced ($50)and the 2 rear turn signal bulbs!! The original continental tires were also changed at 50k because the highway noise was getting louder on them which annoyed me and the generals I picked for a replacement are a perfect combo for it. It really has all I need like good pick-up, decent gas mileage, good cargo space,etc.. My next vehicle will have a back up camera though which this does not have.I'm thinking of getting a newer one like '09 or '10 since they stopped making them. Best vehicle for the money that I've owned so far after 30 years of driving.
