2012 Subaru Foresterdawn benedetto - mount rainier, MD10/03/2015
terrible gas mileage. I upgraded from a honda fit because I needed more space to haul around my booth (I am an artists who does a lot of craft shows and needed a vehicle that could handle the weight) I expected the mileage to be close to the sticker (22city/27hwy) and seriously, total lies. I drive "highway" often, but the only time I saw 27 mpg was on a road trip (1400+ miles). I was regretting not getting the VW tdi diesel wagon, but now that VW was exposed for fraud regarding emissions, I am only moderately ok with choosing the subaru.
Soon after moving from KS to the steep, curvy, sometimes snowy and icey Teton mountains I realized I needed a different car. I researched then chose a Subaru.
Man, am I happy! In the mountains life must go on in the cold and snow. There's no choice! I confidently and safely drive on roads thru conditions that would keep me homebound in KS!
I love my Subaru! I've told my family: I may even start sleeping with it!
I got the car I wanted at Carmax!
2008 Subaru ForesterJoyce Scott - Austin, TX09/22/2015
I picked this car based on my research of Consumer Reports' Used Car Buying Guide. Although there are not many to be found in Austin, or Texas, for that matter, Carmax helped me find what I wanted. The AWD and many safety features were very important to me. The sales associate was very knowledgeable and helpful and I love the no-pressure sales practices and real customer care of Carmax. This is my second car to buy from them and it is the best car buying experience you'll ever have! The only thing disappointing about the car is that the gas mileage is not as good as I had hoped, but still, it's not too bad and I love this car!
